Tools Required: Standard Philips or Flathead screwdriver, A new lamp.

Time Required: About 15 minutes.

Abstract: This guide is being published to show how easy it is to replace your original Sony XL-5300 Lamp.

NOTE: We recommend you to use latex gloves when handling the new bulb, to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…The oil residue from our hands can cause premature failure of the lamp if the front side of the lamp is not wiped down after the installation. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…

	Sony XL-5300U Lamp casing			1.- Start by removeing the screw adjacent to the power connector.
	2.- Turn the lamp on its side to remove one more screw.			3.-Carefully take apart both front and back of the casing.
	4.- Pull the bulb back with your hand until you can easily remove both screws that connect the cables to the bulb.			5.- Once the screws are off, you can pull away the back of the lamps housing.
	6.- Returning to the base of the lamp you’ll notice two small clips holding the bulb in place, remove both of them.			7.-Now, be very, careful when retrieving the old bulb because of the two air docks that are inserted in the bulb.
	8.-So when taking it out be sure that it bypasses the small edges of the two air docks.			9.- Ready your new bulb, and prepare to install it the same way you took out the old one.
	A.- Remove the two air docks and the metal filters that were left behind, you won’t need them anymore.			B.-Place the new bulb over the base without the air docks and filter.
	C.-Insert back the screws and the clips to secure the bulb, make sure that the bulb can’t be moved.			D.-Now to place the screws back in to hold the two cables to the new bulb.
	E.- Make sure that they are tight enough that the cables can’t move.			F.-Now push the plate in, make sure the holes in the plate match the ones in the plastic casing.
	G.- Turn the casing to the side where the connector is located; slide it in to place backwards.			H.- At the bottom insert the screw that holds it in to place and make sure it doesn’t move.
	I.- Finally flip the casing to the other side to insert the last screw in its place.			J.-And after less than 15 minutes you’re finished.

IMPORTANT: After installing the replacement bulb, you should wipe it with a clean cloth to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…this could reduce considerably the life span of the new lamp.
