Necessities:
1. A Phillips screwdriver
2. A Pair of Pliers
3. A new Philips Lamp
4. 15 minutes of your time
NOTE: The bulb should be handled with a clean lint-free cloth at all times to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…The oil residue from our hands can cause premature failure of the lamp if the front side of the lamp is not wiped down after the installation. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…

This guide is for the Sony XL-2400. Make sure you've got the right lamp. |
You'll need the tools mentioned above. |
Examine the enclosure. |
Identify the screws holding the metal housing in place. We'll get that off first. |
Use the Philips screw drive to remove the top metal and plastic piece. |
There should be two of these screws on the sides... |
One more screw where at the ballast connector. |
Pull the two pieces apart. |
You should now have two pieces and a few screws laying around. |
Next we're going to remove the terminal wires. |
Use the pliars to remove the nut from the end of the lamp. |
Remove the wire. |
Next, remove the screw from the terminal on the side. |
Move both wires out of the way. |
Now we need to remove the lamp from the front cover. |
This is done with an ordinary screw driver. |
The lamp is now free. |
This is the cover by itself. |
Don't lose any of these pieces. We're going to reverse directions. |
Place the new lamp in. |
Mount the lamp to the cover. |
Place the top wire on first, then use your pliars to put the nut on snug. |
Don't over tighten. Excessive torque can break the terminal! |
Place the first half of the enclosure back on... |
Then screw it in place, starting at the ballast connector. |
Next, screw the side screws back on. |
Your're lamp enclosure is complete!! |
You're done! Go watch TV! |

IMPORTANT: The bulb should be handled with a clean cloth at all times to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…this is a no-no for these lamps. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…
