NORMAL DISCLAIMER:
— Do NOT purchase generic brand lamps such as LTI, APO or third-party manufacturers such as OSRAM.
These lamps were NOT engineered with and for your TV…only your Philips lamp has been engineered to work flawlessly and output the best possible color. Above that, it just doesn’t make sense to choose an aftermarket lamp for a $5-$10 difference (and in many cases they are more expensive!!). Be a smart consumer and do your research! Discount-Merchant.com promises to be the low price leader in all Projection TV Lamps they carry…if this is not true, let us know and we’ll fix it!
Tools Required: Standard Philips,Pair of Pliers and A new lamp.
Time Required: About 15 minutes.
Abstract: This guide is being published to show how easy it is to replace your original Panasonic TY-LA2000 Lamp.
NOTE: The bulb should be handled with a clean lint-free cloth at all times to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…The oil residue from our hands can cause premature failure of the lamp if the front side of the lamp is not wiped down after the installation. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…

1.-Start by locating two screws located on the back of the lamp enclosure. |
2.-Take your screwdriver to remove both of them from the metal casings. |
3.-Now lift on the side of the casing and pull it up to release it from the rest of the enclosure. |
4.-Place the metal cover at the side since the connector are still attached, and you’ll be able to see the exposed bulb. |
5.-Take out your screwdriver and extract the screw conjoining the cable to the side of the lamp. |
6.-Now remove the nut on the top terminal of the bulb to completely separate the metal cover from the rest of the enclosure. |
7.-Surrounding the lamp at the bottom are two metal holders that are unified by one screw, remove it. |
8.-Pull apart both metal holders just enough to remove the old lamp. |
9.-Prepare your new lamp that will replace the old one in your enclosure. |
A.-After installing it in its place squeeze both metal holders around the lamp until they can be both joined at the middle. |
B.-To hold them in place insert the screw between the two holes at the end of each metal holder. |
C.-Now with your screwdriver tight it well until the lamp is firmly in place. |
D.-Now bring back your metal casing and connect the cable to your new lamp by placing the screw in its place. |
E.- Reinstall the nut that goes on the top terminal of the new lamp to conjoin it with the connector cable.
F.- Place back the metal case to its original location bypassing the enclosures edges and press down on it. |
G.-Secure it with the two screws, and make sure they are firmly adjusted so the metal cover can’t move.
H.-Finally the lamp replacement has been complete. |
IMPORTANT: After installing the replacement bulb, you should wipe it with a clean cloth to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…this could reduce considerably the life span of the new lamp.
