NORMAL DISCLAIMER:

Necessities:
1. A Phillips screwdriver and a flathead screwdriver
2. A Pair of Pliers
3. A new Philips Lamp
4. 15 minutes of your time
NOTE: The bulb should be handled with a clean lint-free cloth at all times to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…The oil residue from our hands can cause premature failure of the lamp if the front side of the lamp is not wiped down after the installation. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…

This procedure is the same for Philips / Magnavox SP.L6502G001 / 928137805390
Here are some of the tools you'll need (as mentioned above) |
Examine enclosure. |
Note there are a few pieces to this enclosure... |
This is the back of the lamp. |
Use a screw driver to remove the screws, so you can pull off the back plastic piece. |
It should come off easily after you've removed all the screws. |
The lamp is an OEM Philips, 120W E23 with a 1.3 Arc. |
Gently peal the paper backing away (especially if you plan to reuse it)... |
A slight tug will pull it free from the enclosure. |
The lamp is exposed. |
Use pliars to remove the nut from the end terminal. |
Don't use excessive torque when unscrewing the lamp. |
You'll also need to remove the lamp, so unscrew the clamp. |
Handle lamps with caution. |
This is the empty enclosure. |
Here are all the pieces laid out. Don't lose them; we'll need them later! |
Reverse directions to put the lamp back in place. |
Screw the clamps back on once the lamp is set in place. |
Reconnect the terminals... |
Then hand tighten the nut, or gently tighten with the pliars. |
HAND TIGHTEN the screw on the terminal. Excessive torque can break it. |
Place the back cover back on the lamp, then screw it in. |
You can reuse the paper cover... |
We've found that the paper cover really doesn't do anything.. |
You can reuse the paper cover as it should still be adhesive enough to stick back on the housing. |
This note is for service centers like us: You can reuse the paper cover... |
or use parts from a different enclosure (as seen below). |
The lamp replacement is complete. |
We used pieces of a 915P020A10 enclosure to use in place of the paper cover. |
Here's what tha cover looks like. |
Some screws put that plastic cover in place. |
It's ready to go back in the TV. |
IMPORTANT: The bulb should be handled with a clean cloth at all times to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…this is a no-no for these lamps. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…
