NORMAL DISCLAIMER:
— Do NOT purchase generic brand lamps such as LTI, APO or third-party manufacturers such as OSRAM.
These lamps were NOT engineered with and for your TV…only your Philips lamp has been engineered to work flawlessly and output the best possible color. Above that, it just doesn’t make sense to choose an aftermarket lamp for a $5-$10 difference (and in many cases they are more expensive!!). Be a smart consumer and do your research! Discount-Merchant.com promises to be the low price leader in all Projection TV Lamps they carry…if this is not true, let us know and we’ll fix it!
Tools Required: Standard Philips or Flathead screwdrivers, Pair of Pliers, A new lamp.
Time Required: About 15 minutes
Abstract: This guide is being published to show how easy it is to replace your original Hitachi Lamp UX21515.
NOTE: We recommend you to use latex gloves when handling the new bulb, to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…The oil residue from our hands can cause premature failure of the lamp if the front side of the lamp is not wiped down after the installation. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…

1.-Hitachi DLP Lamp UX21515 |
2.-First remove the metal case by unscrewing it from the plastic housing. |
3.-Take out two black stickers to reveal one screw in each hole on the top plastic piece; remove them.
4.-Unclip the metal case and carefully tug on it and pull it apart. |
5.-Use your screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lamp in its place. |
6.-Remove the screw on the side of the case that holds the two plastic covered cables to the housing. |
7.-Now, gently give it a pull to remove the small metal case. |
8.-You can now remove the cable that’s attached to the lamp. |
9.-Extract the bulb by tilting it a little to the side and rotating it. |
10.-Remove both cables attaché to the lamp. |
11.-Watch out for the small pieces when disassembling the lamp. |
12.-Now, grab your replacement bulb and install it the same way you took out the old one. |
13.-Reconnect the two plastic covered cables on their respective terminal. |
14.-Reinstall the metal ring over the bulb, place the bulb inside the enclosure and secure it with the screw. |
15.-Insert the metal clip to hold the cables to the housing. |
16.-And secure it with the screw that you took out earlier. |
17.-Place the metal case back on and place the screws back on. |
18.-And this is what it looks like when it’s done. |
IMPORTANT: After installing the replacement bulb, you should wipe it with a clean cloth to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…this could reduce considerably the life span of the new lamp.
